The
healing technique
of Acupuncture
is founded on
the principal
that internal
harmony is essential
for good health.
Fundamental
for this harmony
is the concept
of chi (qi),
vital energy
or life force
that ebbs and
flows with changes
in a person
are mental,
physical, and
spiritual well-being.
Chi is set to
circulate through
the body within
14 invisible
channels called
meridians, forming
a network called
the web of life.
A
balanced, freely
flowing chi
is set to generate
good health,
while sluggish,
blocked, or
over stimulated
chi is believed
to cause illness.
Acupuncturist
strives to encourage
proper chi circulation
by manipulating
it at “ chi
gateways” just
below the skin;
the manipulation
achieved by
inserting hair-thin
needles at these
gateways, which
are more commonly
known as acupoints.
The stimulation
that results
is set to enable
a person to
achieve internal
harmony, a state
that allows
the body’s self-healing
mechanisms to
engage.
Because
acupuncture’s
ultimate goal
is to maximize
the body’s own
healing abilities,
it is little
surprise that
acupuncture
treatment are
considered helpful
in maintaining
as well as restoring
health. Indeed,
acupuncturists
are trained
to recognize
so-called disharmonies
early, often
before it develops
into full-blown
disease.

HERBAL MEDICINE
|
Herbs
are prepared
from a wide
variety of plant
materials -
frequently the
leaves, stems,
roots, and bark,
but also the
flower, fruits,
twigs, seeds,
and exudates.
They generally
contain several
biologically
active ingredients
and are used
primarily for
treating chronic
and mild conditions,
although on
occasion they
are employed
as complimentary
or supportive
therapy for
acute and severe
diseases.
Herbs
can be of great
value when used
in a program
of self-care
and preventive
medicine. Doctor
can advice,
which of the
milder tonic
herbs is appropriate
for your condition.
A number of
herbs are used
in a preventive
health program.

MASSAGE
/ SHIATSU / ACUPRESSURE
| Acupressure,
shiatsu and massage
are a systematic
manipulation of
an acupoints and
the soft tissue.
It activates the
flow of chi in
the meridians,
relieves sore
muscles and promotes
relaxation it
is usually performed
with various standard
hand strokes and
pressure. It can
help to lower
blood pressure
and heart rate
and improve respiration.
Researchers believe
acupressure and
massage helps
the brain make
endorphins, chemicals
that can act as
natural pain killers,
which perhaps
explains why recipients
feel better and
more tranquil
afterwards. Acupressure
is used for treating
various ailments. |
